Pro: Food was exactly what Ma needed to fix her craving. Portions were generous, prices were on point. The flavor was not too salty, nothing was greasy. And the fortunes in the cookies weren't ominous. Con: It was very quiet. Like library quiet. Too quiet. Maybe that's something for you, but I felt like I had to whisper. The other guests were also speaking in hushed voices, but their conversation was very clear I couldnt help but hear everything they were talking about. We might have well all just gone in together.

Just off Hwy99 I found Happy Family Chinese Restaurant in Newberg. If you're not familiar, it's one of those places you could easily miss if you're not looking, but trust me, you'll wanna look. Stepping in, the vibe was cool—roomier than you'd think from the outside. Had a friendly server come up, let me choose a spot, and handed over the menu. And man, did she bring that tea fast. The lunch menu? Gave me some good ol' Austin feels. Went for the Broccoli Beef with Fried Rice, added some noodles, and snagged a Spring roll. Kicked things off with their Hot and Sour Soup—straight-up delicious. To wrap it up, Happy Family is now on my go-to list when I'm up in Newberg. Definitely worth a stop if you're around. Cheers, y'all!

Writing from my booth. Incredibly fast service and DELICIOUS FOOD!!! Came in at about 1205pm and was served my food by 1215pm. Got the Mongolian beef special: I was given soup, a spring roll, pork fried rice and vegetable lo mein along with my Mongolian beef. Very sweet waitress who offered her opinion on what appetizer I should try. Will be here again when I'm in town!!!

Figured I'd Try the Food, I was greeted promptly by a nice young man who offered drink by the time he came back I gave the order and ordered the General Tso chicken and fried rice. It was delivered promptly, piping hot and with enough portions where I as a 6 foot 1 big guy needed a to go Box. I found it a bit mild as General Tso goes and spice, but it was good. Seemed like a good family owned place to eat. I'll be back.
